On the morning of June 29th, 2019 a group of runners called Red Dirt Runners gathered to run around Lake Hefner in support of a local organization called the Pine Pantry. The Pine Pantry has various locations around the city that are there to help those in need by having canned goods and other items available for people to take what they need. Anyone can leave items at any of their locations.
The Red Dirt Runners collected over 50 items for the Pine Pantry that morning. Over the next few months they also did a few other "can"raisers to continue to show support for the organization.

Christmas has come early this year for HOPE for soap! Our friends at Staplegun here in Oklahoma City have been working on a new and improved logo for us for the past month and let me tell you, IT LOOKS GREAT! Kris and Erick have really outdone themselves and what they have come up with, in short, is AMAZING!
To add onto the amazingness is that they did all of this work pro-bono! Can you believe that? We sure do feel really blessed this holiday season. So, to celebrate the new logo we are planning a big reveal. Check back soon to see the great job Staplegun did for us and our new logo. We are super excited to show everyone the logo, so in support of our new logo we are asking if you'd take a moment and shoot Staplegun a BIG thank you on behalf of us here at HOPE for soap. Their twitter is @STAPLEGUN_US. Be sure to include us in your tweets too! Thanks again Kris & Erick for your support. PS. Stay tuned for some other news about a soap drive with a VERY special partner! Check out my latest presentation on apps that make life a bit easier. Here is the website to get even more information about them (notes will be updated shortly)
http://www.haikudeck.com/p/I0dKhWH6dl/a-day-in-the-life-of-apps# We have some amazing news! Just yesterday I met the founders of an amazing organization called No Boundaries International, based out of Oklahoma City. They began back in 2006 with the mission to help bring awareness to human trafficking here in Oklahoma and to share God's love with the women involved. They help train volunteers, give care packages to the women, and are helping to build relationships with these people so as to eventually have the opportunity to share the gospel with them.
The main reason I'm so excited about being able to help this organization is because at the root of their mission there is no sense of judgement or ridicule towards those they are helping. They are there to help and just lend a helping hand, as well as prayer. Too many times you hear about organizations who get lost on what they are trying to accomplish. It brings joy to my heart to see an organization in todays society who is not letting the rules and regulations or their "beliefs" get in the way of showering God's love on the ones who need it the most. Please check them out at www.nbint.org and see what they are doing. They are having an event Nov. 12th that looks to be a lot of fun. Below is an excerpt from their website about the event. If you can stop by and show your support! "We are so pleased and excited that Bethany First Church of the Nazarene and Southern Nazarene University have joined together to create an evening called “Night of Redemption” with guest singers Charlie Hall, Shawn McDonald, The Royal Royals and the City Harmonic. Special speaker will be author Bob Goff whose book “Love Does” has been on the New York Times best selling list. The fun starts at 8pm at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene at 6789 NW 39th Street, Bethany, Ok. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit No Boundaries International in their fight against human trafficking. Tickets are $10 online or $12 at the door." ![]() We were contacted a couple weeks ago by an athletic student from Savannah State University who was looking at starting a HOPE for soap chapter at her school for their athletics department. We were thrilled to hear about this and are excited to announce that they will be our first official chapter outside of Oklahoma City! Thanks Bianca for the courage and strength to make a difference in your community and we here at HOPE for soap can't wait to see where you take HOPE for soap from here. Welcome aboard!! |
