HOPE for soap is an organization that helps gather unused hotel amenities for people in need. The majority of our donations go towards the Oklahoma City YWCA, the only certified shelter for battered women and children in Oklahoma County.
How did it start?
We are a very small organization who one day just wanted to start to make a difference. While traveling my wife and I had started to accumulate all of these hotel soaps and shampoos. So, I decided to try and find a use for them and stumbled upon the YWCA here in Oklahoma City. They are always taking donations for the women and children who are staying in their shelter and thought it would be perfect! Thus, HOPE for soap was born. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to start collecting small bottles of unused shampoo, bath soap, bar soap, or anything else you might think would be helpful.
Who is HOPE for soap?
My name is Jason Redman and with the help of my wife, Kasie, we started HOPE for soap December, 2012. I am a native Oklahoman who was born and raised in Oklahoma City. Along with running HOPE for soap, I am also the owner of Redman Tech Consulting, a consulting company that helps people integrate technology into their everyday lives. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma in Sociology/Criminology, as well as a master's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in Adult Education. I currently am an HR Trainer with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center which is my full-time job. I truly love helping people, and my passions in life are people, technology, and education. It is my hope that through my different endeavors I can make a difference in as many people's lives as possible. God bless! J
